I don't think that I have any information on the diesel models but I will check. There weren't very many diesel models sold in the UK, most of ther vehicles that were sold here were 1.6 engined.

After 2 hours of reading I realise that the information in the forum is quite technical and I don't have any knowledge in this area.
My problems with Vitara started 2 weeks ago (after driving the car for the last 2 and a half years with no problem).
After going for a trip in the mountains, I was coming home and the exhaust started to make a black smoke, leaving quite a fog after me.
I first went to a garaje, that changed the air and fuel filter and checked distribution, EGR, injectors, etc. After I left the garaje, the situation was much better, but the smoke is still present. They told me I should have a diagnosis for the car to see where the problem is.
2 days ago I went first to a Mitsubishi garage (japanese cars) and then to a Sukuzi garage - they both told me they only have diagnosis tools from 1999 (my car is 1998, R registration).
Guys from Suzuki garage even tryed a diagnosis, the programme said the car is a gas fueled one (not diesel) and is manual (not automatic) and issued 2 faults (#62 and #63). They also said that considering that the car is from UK (right hand drive), the programme is not compatible (hard to believe).
I took a picture of the diagnose reading (attached).
After hearing so much bull**** from the authorised Suzuki dealer, I decided to search for someone from UK to make an educated guess about what happened to my car.
Is it possible to supply for me some details about this car?
What would be the price for a diagnosis software and hardware (probably the wires) for a Windows XP computer?
Is a tuning possible for this motor? The car is quite weak for off road competition and a 30% increase would help.
