You didn't mention that the engine was cold, in that case 155psi is not so bad. I would suggest that you also check that the main ground strap is properly connected to the starter motor bolt, if you have a bad ground there the engine can ground through the clutch cable and may stall when you operate the clutch.
The EGR control is under the 'command' menu.

Dear Guru:

Thank for the quick reply.  However, I must say that some of your answers are above my comprehension, since I am not a full-fledged mechanics.  I was wondering if you could clarify a couple of issue fo rme.

1.  How do I "activate the EGR control" as you mentioned?

BTW, I am supersized you mentioned 155 psi (compression test at cold engine) is too low.  I have read many people reporting this compression as relatively good for a cold engine.

Moreover,  I had to replace the timing belt, and have checked the TDC very carefully.

Thanks again!

MAP should be around 330mBar, TPS angle should show 0 degs at idle. What values do you get for ISC duty cycle? fully warmed up at around 88C you should be at around 50%. Check IAT, CTS and Baro values with the engine cold against a local weather station. Check reported ignition timing against actual timing using a timing light. STFT, LTFT and TFT should be around zero or 128 (I forget which) with the engine fully warmed up and idling and the O2 sensor should be switching between 0V and 1V.
155PSI is quite low I would double check the camshaft timing, did you check the crankshaft pulley keyway?

With your foot on the accelerator increase idle to around 2500RPM and then activate the EGR control, the RPM should drop if its working properly. Also use the RPM control to check that the ISC is working correctly.

Hi:

I am new here.  I bouught the Rhino OBDI for my 91 Sidekick.  I put a used engine in the car.  It starts and runs reasonably OK, but when I try to put it in gear, it dies.  If I keep foot on the accelerator it run, but with very low power, dispute the fact that compression test gives a minimum of 155 psi for each cylinder.

ECU gives no error.  I put the Rhino power,.  No error.

The question I have is that what are the average values of the values reported by the Rhino?  In other words, is there a table somewhere in this site that would tell me what the TSP or MAP values should be ?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

Zackman
