I believe your reply is penitent OBDII SDL; mine is the OBD1 (91 Suzuki Sidekick).

What is the cause of not seeing the live data, and just getting the initial values only; why do I get the "Bad Data Sampling"?

You should have 13.5V on pin 16 and 5V on pin 9.

Dear Guru:

I finally managed to connect to the ECU. However, after initial connection, it does not show live data, saying "bad sampling".

I tested the port, and get 13.5 V on the two pins you mentioned. In also increased the data sampling rate, but it did not resolve the issue.

Any suggestions as what may cause the issue? The software says it is connected to the ECU, and I get the initial readings (please see attached).

in that page, go down to "No Longer Supported" table, and for XP you have driver versions as executables, in the right side of the the tables, search for executable, these are two links, for different versions of them:

Under utilities tab of support you can find an unistaller for this drivers, as to clean the xp.(its not for win7).:

I installed them in 3 different XP computers and cant get RV to work, please tell your experience..

I could not find any self-executable D2XX. I checked what you had suggested in another thread.

I have been able to connect using Win10 but I have had some communications issues, I'm trying to resolve those for the next release. The D2XX driver is available as a self-installing executable. Pin numbers are shown on this page:

SDL should be at 5V with the ignition on.

Dear Guru:

Added to my sever frustration with my Sidekick, yesterday, the Windows tablet that was running the R-V software started its automatic upgrading, and unfortunately during upgrading its power went down and now cannot start (stock at 35% upgrade stage and cannot boot).

At that stage, I installed the software on my Microsoft Surface tablet that runs Windows 10, however, it could not communicate with the CPU. I then found an old DELL PC, which runs Windows XP, and installed the most recent version of R-V (1.1). Again, could not communicate.

Any advice is welcomed. Please note I am a novice and not very familiar with computer terms used in other threads. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could help me in layman terms!

I am wondering, has anyone been able to run your software on Windows 10 platform?

BTW, I have tried to install the D2XX drivers from the site suggested on one of your threads, however, their instruction and screen-shots do not match Windows 10 screens (I tried on my MS Surface, as well as a Lenovo laptop I own).

One last question! In one of your thread you have mention that one could check voltage on certain pins on the ECU's dongle; how would I know the order/numbering of the pins?

Any help would be much appreciated.
