I've been working on a 58B90 16V Track/Kick ECU so I took the opportunity to pull the MAF data from the ECU.
I've seen a dependency on RPM and VE on the value both on the bench and in the code and that was apparent when a full test was performed. Note that there is also a compensation for intake air temperature, these results were taken with IAT = 45C.
The ECU applies a 'credibility check' to the data and during the driving cycle limits the maximum value based on a maximum value of VE, this isn't applied at idle, so the actual data can be recorded and graphed:
