I have a Suzuki Jimmy that I have recently purchased knowing there was an issue with the vehicle.
I was was told it was over heating when I bought it, but after further investigation I found it wasn't over heating but when it gets up to temperature it was misfiring as if it was running on 3 cylinders and also cutting out if the vehicle was ticking over.
I assumed it was the camsh sensor so I ordered a new one , and when it arrived it was different to the one that was on the engine.
I questioned it and seemingly it was the correct one for my vehicle but would not fit , I showed them the one that was on the vehicle and they replaced it with the same type.
After fitting it and road testing, the vehicle would surge and rev up to 2500/3000 rpm so I changed the Maff sensor and it was no different as in it gets to temperature and then it again runs as if it's running on 3 cylinders.
after further investigation I found that the plug for the cam sensor has been changed , I noticed that the wires had been cut and a new wire loom had been put in. So I'm thinking has it had an engine change, I can't find the engine numbers on the engine so it's a possibility or a cylinder head replacement !!!!! I was hoping I could find a set of numbers on the plug for each pin just in case it has been wired up wrong.
Any suggestions as I've ran out of ideas apart from fit another engine.
