Hello, I have a 2003 Jimny from Australia and am looking for advice as I've just installed an m16a and am having some trouble starting it and need to diagnose. I am unsure if the SDL is available or not / if it is what I need, Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guru I have a 1998 Jimny SA spec intended for the Caribbean market, in which I will be installing a Japanese spec Baleno G16BB engine. I will be using the Baleno engine harness and ECU, the ECU number is 33920-65GC. Would you have any interface/software for this ECU?
I will also be mildly turbo charging this engine, wish I can do some remapping, please let me know if you can help.
You would need an SDL interface, you will need to check which connector you have, if it is the old style 12-pin connector then you will need an adapter cable.

Thank you for accepting me on the forum. I have a Suzuki Vitara 1996, engine 1.6 16v, european model. Which of your products can read the fault codes on the car?
The 80C70 has no serial diagnostic link so you can't use one of my interfaces. The fault codes can be read using a jumper in the diagnostic socket, details are in the FSM supplement here:
i have a suzuki samurai santata 1.3 EFI with ECU code are 33920-80C70. Which of your products are compatible with my car's ECU in order to read the fault codes, if they exist.
The data that you are seeing is typical of a J20 GV that uses KWP2000 on pin 7 as the primary data interface. The only other data that is usually on pin 7 is airbags and immobilisers.

Appears to be SDL Interface, connections on Pins 5, 9 & 16 only. Also has 6-pin connector to use "Check Engine" lamp to read DTC codes.
Thanks for this great site, I have learned a lot from it. I have an engine problem, but I will my post query elsewhere on this forum. As a matter of interest, Suzuki Australia have recently withdrawn all vehicle repair manuals from sale in Australia. I believe Nissan Australia have done the same.
The 70E10 has a full OBD1 diagnostic interface, I have that exact ECU on my own 8V Vitara. On my car the connector is under the dashboard below the steering wheel, its not easy to spot with the lower trim on unless you use a mirror. I have rotated my connector 90 degrees so I can drive with the interface plugged in, as standard it points down and gets in the way of my legs.

Rhinoview is capable of interfacing with any ECU using the SDL protocol, all known ECUs are supported so this list is maintained for reference only.
Note that although some OBD2 vehicles use the OBD1/SDL serial link to control actuators and to access high speed diagnostics (AKA Suzuki Mode), this mode is not yet implemented in Rhinoview.
