Try starting the car before plugging in the interface. If you have a terminal programme like RS232 HexcomTool then try connecting at 7812 or 15625 and send the hex string 1003ED, you should get back the ECU ID.

Sorry, the Jinmy is a friend and you can not remove the ECU

interface (FTDI) is the one I use in my Vitara 8Valvulas

Can you post a pic of the inside of the ECU? What interface are you using?
