Thank you for your informative answer.
But one last question,, does this also happens to all cars ? Because mine uses unleaded gasoline and no petrol.
Regards
In the EU all new petrol engined models introduced from 2001 onwards had to be OBD2 by law. Existing models could be soild with OBD1 until 2002. Any cars sold before 2001 could be any protocol, most Suzukis were SDL.
Sometimes you will find cars built after 2001 that have been privately imported into the EU and are not European models, those models may use a Suzuki protocol based on the KWP2000 OBD2 standard. European models will usually have a VIN starting JSAE or VSE

Dear Rhinoman,
I’ve been learning from friends around how have the same Jimny like mine that when used an OBD scanner, didn’t work at all and the same time worked perfectly on a Terios.
I remaind you that my car has the G13bb engine and seems to me more reasonable to also use older ECU protocols.
Thank you again for your help

Thanks Rhinoman for your answer.
I thought it was easy to find because your hardware and software looked simple and user friendly, as it comes to me how hasn’t mach idea about car mechanics.
Tell me is there any other information to provide so to be sure that OBD2 protocol is the one have to look for ???
Thank you again for your help
Welcome to the forum. If your Jimny was built for the European market then it will be OBD2, most probably KWP2000, you will need an OBD2 tool such as the Elmscan.

Hi,
My name is George and I’m staying in Greece.
I own a 2002 Soft Top Jimny, it is a Spanish model from Santana factory, engined with a G13BB.
The ECU is 33921-81A4 and can’t find it in the list.
I’m looking forward to buy your Hardware but I don’t know if my car is compatible with it, as a mater of fact I can’ find even if my car works in ODB I, ODB II or SDL protocol.
Can you help me with that?
Regards
