Where Do You Even Start to Get Your Book Published as a First-Timer?

I never thought I'd actually finish writing my book, but here I am with a completed manuscript and absolutely no idea what to do next. Everyone keeps telling me to get your book published as soon as possible before losing momentum, but the whole process feels overwhelming. There are so many routes and opinions out there. Has anyone been in this spot before and figured out a path that actually worked for them?
