I have a 1997 Suzuki Samurai / SJ80 1.3 TBI with ECU 33920-80CG0.
I am building a Raspberry Pi based display and I would like to read live ECU data such as RPM, coolant temperature, TPS, MAP, etc.
I found an old RhinoPower discussion stating that the 33920-80CG0 firmware has an SDL diagnostic link, but I cannot identify where the SDL line is physically connected on my car.
What I have found so far:
green 6-pin diagnostic connector near the battery;
several unused cavities on the ECU connectors;
pin A20, sometimes mentioned in Vitara documentation, is not populated on my Samurai.
My questions are:
Which ECU pin carries SDL on the 33920-80CG0?
Is SDL present on the 6-pin diagnostic connector? If yes, which pin?
Is there another hidden diagnostic/monitor connector?
What are the correct SDL electrical levels and baud rate?
Is an L9637 interface suitable for this SDL bus?
I only want to passively sniff/read the ECU first, without sending commands.
I can provide photos of the ECU connectors, wire colours and voltage measurements if needed.
